Softball Recap: Thornridge Comes Up Short

Thornridge extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 35 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-16 in the process. They lost 23-6 to the Crete-Monee Warriors. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly 17 runs.

As for Crete-Monee, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-14 record this season. The result was nothing new for Crete-Monee, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Crete-Monee's part, Taleeana Ramirez was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Those seven RBI gave Ramirez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Raechel Lindsay, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

While Thornridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
