Basketball Recap: Excel Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sweet Water last Thursday, Excel came back down to earth. The Excel Panthers were dealt a 65-7 defeat at the hands of the T.R. Miller Tigers on Monday. The Panthers were probably out for revenge after losing 50-8 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kendall Plunkett, who posted a point and nine boards. Plunkett is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games she's played.

Excel's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for T.R. Miller, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Excel has already played their next matchup, a 37-27 win against Monroe County on the 14th. As for T.R. Miller, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-26 victory against Saraland on the 14th.
