Basketball Game Preview: Huntley Red Raiders vs. Crystal Lake South Gators

The Huntley Red Raiders will head out to take on the Crystal Lake South Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Huntley easily dispatched Crystal Lake Central on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Huntley fell just short of Central by a score of 73-70 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Rockets are ranked 90th).

Meanwhile, Crystal Lake South had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 57-53 W against the Trojans.

Crystal Lake South's win bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Huntley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-15.

Huntley came up short against Crystal Lake South in their previous meeting back in January, falling 56-47. Can Huntley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
