Soccer Game Preview: Olathe North vs. Lawrence Free State

The Olathe North Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Lawrence Free State Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Olathe North's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Olathe North is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Olathe East, who was ranked 25th at the time (Olathe North was ranked 24th). The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Hawks 2-1 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Lawrence Free State fell victim to Shawnee Mission Northwest and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0. Lawrence Free State have struggled against Shawnee Mission Northwest recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Lawrence Free State's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Olathe North, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-4.
