Volleyball Recap: Model Beats Armuchee for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Model entered their tilt with Armuchee on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Indians. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

Model had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-17, 15-8.

Leading Model to victory were Maralea Davis and AnnElise Mitchell. Davis had 11 digs and three assists, while Mitchell had eight assists. That's the most digs Davis has posted since back in August.

Despite the loss, Armuchee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ava Grace Crump had eight digs and two aces. Crump has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 26 times she's played.

Model's win bumped their record up to 27-6. As for Armuchee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Model will take on Gordon Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Armuchee, they will square off against Dalton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
