Volleyball Recap: Osborne Takes a Loss

Osborne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Osborne sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 11-25, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Osborne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gentrie Riner had 13 digs.

Osborne's loss dropped their record down to 18-14. As for Sylvan-Lucas, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Osborne will square off against rival Rock Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sylvan-Lucas is set to take on their familiar foe Lakeside on Tuesday.
