Football Game Preview: Mitchell Tigers vs. Amherst Broncos

The Mitchell Tigers will head out to challenge the Amherst Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Mitchell came up short against Kearney Catholic and fell 22-11. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Amherst suffered their closest loss since August 30, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Valentine by a score of 30-28. On the bright side, the 28- point effort marked the Broncos' highest-scoring game to date.

Amherst's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-5.

Mitchell beat Amherst 22-13 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
