Volleyball Game Preview: Orange Glen Patriots vs. Coastal Academy Stingrays

Orange Glen hasn't had much luck against Coastal Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Patriots will take on the Stingrays at 4:00 p.m. Orange Glen will be strutting in after a win while Coastal Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Orange Glen was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past La Jolla Country Day 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Torreys: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Coastal Academy lost 3-0 to Escondido Charter on Thursday.

While Coastal Academy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-21.

Coastal Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-12. As for Orange Glen, their victory bumped their record up to 9-18.

Orange Glen couldn't quite get it done against Coastal Academy in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
