Recap: Swainsboro Tigers vs. Veterans Warhawks
The Swainsboro Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over Veterans. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Defeat or not, Veterans got some senior leadership from Chandler Thomas who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds and Antonio ??tone?? scott who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. ??tone?? scott scored a full 29.5% of Veterans' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tristen Abner was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Swainsboro's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Veterans, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Swainsboro will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Glenn Hills at 5:30 p.m. on December 29th. Glenn Hills comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Veterans' road trip will continue as they head out to face Riverdale at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Riverdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Saturday.
