Sweet Water was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 32-16 fall against the Excel Panthers. One positive for the Bulldogs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Among those leading the charge was Uri Guy, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points. Alexis Crosby was another key player, putting up eight points.

Sweet Water's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Excel, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sweet Water has already played their next match (against Choctaw County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Excel Panthers face off against the Monroe County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
