Basketball Recap: Center Hill Find Success

Center Hill won the last time they faced Lake Cormorant and things went their way on Thursday too. The Center Hill Mustangs escaped with a win against Lake Cormorant by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leading Center Hill to victory were Kennedy Hulbert and Madison S. Hughes. Hulbert went 9 of 12 on her way to 23 points in addition to six assists and four steals, while S. Hughes dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Hulbert a new career-high in points.

Center Hill's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Lake Cormorant, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-10.

Center Hill will host Saltillo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lake Cormorant, they will venture away from home to challenge Southaven at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
