Basketball Recap: Robinson Comes Up Short

Robinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians and fell 66-38. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 596th, while the Indians/Lady Indians are ranked 75th).

Robinson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cruz Dunlap, who posted ten points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Blake Green, who put up 15 points.

Robinson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Carlyle, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5.

Looking ahead, Robinson will head out to square off against Dieterich at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carlyle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Red Bud at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carlyle is facing Red Bud at the right time seeing as Red Bud is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
