Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Grand Island Central Catholic on Monday, Lincoln Christian came back down to earth. The Crusaders came up short against the Milford Eagles on Monday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Crusaders have suffered since September 9th.

Lincoln Christian was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-16.

Despite the loss, Lincoln Christian still got an impressive performance from Maci Pittenger, who had 17 digs and two aces. Pittenger is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Milford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Libbie Reil, who had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Reil has posted over her last eight matches.

Lincoln Christian moved to 13-19 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Milford, the victory was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-1.

As of now, neither Lincoln Christian nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
