Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Eagles vs. Little River Academy Bumblebees
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fairfield had no problem doing just that on Monday. They put the hurt on the Little River Academy Bumblebees with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-20, 25-12.
Jacelynn Schmidt paced Fairfield's offense, picking up 11 kills. Schmidt got some help from
Delaney Mcgowan and her 25 assists.
Avery Strait controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Fairfield is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 29-12 record this season. As for Little River Academy, they dropped their record down to 15-22 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Fairfield will host Grandview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grandview will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Fairfield surely won't give up without a fight. Little River Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
