Volleyball Recap: Hillsdale Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Junipero Serra, Hillsdale was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Balboa Buccaneers. This was payback for the FIGHTING KNIGHTS, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Hillsdale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-11, 25-16, 25-21.

Austin Chen paced Hillsdale's offense, picking up 13 kills. Chen got some help from Arian Zolotukhin and his 24 assists. Chen was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Hillsdale now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Balboa, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Coincidentally, Hillsdale and Balboa will both be playing San Mateo the next time they take the court. Balboa will host San Mateo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Hillsdale will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
