Preview: Kings Knights vs. Milford Eagles
Kings has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Milford Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kings has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, Kings earned a 53-42 win over Archbishop McNicholas. Given Kings' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Archbishop McNicholas is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Milford has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Anderson 62-29 at home. The win was nothing new for Milford as they're now sitting on five straight.
Violet Shuluga was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jessica Correll, who scored 14 points.
Kings has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Milford, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Everything went Kings' way against Milford in their previous meeting back in November as Kings made off with a 73-52 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Shuluga, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
