Baseball Recap: New Fairfield Beats New Milford for Their Third Straight Win

New Fairfield barely beat New Milford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rebels were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Green Wave on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Rebels sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Andrew Dossena made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Dossena was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Benoit, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. New Fairfield is 3-1 when Benoit posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Martini, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

New Fairfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got New Fairfield back to even at 8-8. As for New Milford, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Fairfield will venture away from home to face off against Brookfield at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Milford, they will head out to take on Weston at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Green Wave are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
