Basketball Recap: Groves Takes a Loss

Groves was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 60-29 loss at the hands of the Troy Colts. The match marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Groves saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Harlem Simpson dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards. That was a full 55.2% of Groves' points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Julie Audebeau also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Groves' loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Troy, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Groves will face off against Seaholm at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Troy, they will welcome Bloomfield Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
