Soccer Game Preview: Deerfield vs. Antioch

The Deerfield Warriors will head out to take on the Antioch Sequoits at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Deerfield barely beat Waukegan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Deerfield's defense stepped up to hand Waukegan a 3-0 shutout on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Deerfield.

They hit Waukegan with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Leah Cohen, Ryane Emory, and Rachel Bennie.

Meanwhile, Antioch had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Richmond-Burton by a score of 2-0 last Monday.

Deerfield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Antioch, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Deerfield took their victory against Antioch in their previous matchup back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Deerfield since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
