The DeMotte Christian Knights will take on the Culver Community Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. DeMotte Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

DeMotte Christian couldn't beat Washington Township on Tuesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the sixth inning. The Knights fell just short of the Senators by a score of 10-9. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Senators: they've now lost seven in a row.

Lili Peterson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Eva Orsburn, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Culver Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to North Miami.

Culver Community saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigayle Zehner, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. Savannah Schlemmer was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

DeMotte Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Culver Community, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-5.

Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. DeMotte Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Culver Community struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

DeMotte Christian suffered a grim 23-11 defeat to Culver Community in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
