Softball Recap: Allendale Comes Up Short

Allendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Covenant Christian Chargers, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Kenedie Curtis was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Allendale's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Covenant Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Allendale will challenge Forest Hills Eastern at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Covenant Christian, they will face off against Pewamo-Westphalia at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.8 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
