Baseball Game Preview: Fort Lee Bridgemen vs. Fair Lawn Cutters

The Fort Lee Bridgemen will square off against the Fair Lawn Cutters at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fort Lee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Fort Lee needed a bit of extra time to put away River Dell. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 victory over the Golden Hawks. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bridgemen considering their two-run performance the match before.

Marcus Lee was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Kim, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Fort Lee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Dell only posted a batting average of .333.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Fair Lawn, as they earned their first away win of the season. They came out on top against Hackensack by a score of 7-2 on Friday. That looming 7-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cutters yet this season.

Fort Lee is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Fair Lawn, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
