Softball Recap: Greenwich Takes a Loss

Greenwich had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it five. They fell just short of the Norwalk Bears by a score of 7-5. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Norwalk, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

For Norwalk's part, their victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Collins, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Collins a new career-high. Another was Emily Restaino, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

While Greenwich had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
