Baseball Recap: Ashwaubenon Wins Going Away Against West De Pere

Ashwaubenon barely beat West De Pere the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars blew past the Phantoms 11-2 on Tuesday. The Jaguars not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 5th (when they won 12-2).

The team relied heavily on Ian Aoki, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Hayden Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ashwaubenon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Ashwaubenon and bumps their season record up to 11-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for West De Pere, they moved to 11-8 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Ashwaubenon will head out to challenge Menasha at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West De Pere, they will be playing at home against Pulaski at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Phantoms will need to watch out since the Red Raiders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
