Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Warriors vs. Kirby Prep Griffins
The Trinity Christian Warriors had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 31-28 win over Kirby Prep on Friday. The win was just what Trinity Christian needed coming off of a 61-16 loss in their prior contest.
Despite the defeat, Kirby Prep saw an underclassman step up: Chris Lively scored 18 points along with five steals. Lively hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Nate Kawasaki, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Trinity Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Kirby Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Trinity Christian will be playing at home against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. York is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Kirby Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
