Softball Recap: West Point Dragons vs. Desert Ridge Jaguars
West Point extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 12-13 in the process. They lost 12-2 to the Desert Ridge Jaguars. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Dragons couldn't push the score so high this time.
As for Desert Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-11. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For Desert Ridge's part, Novi Muffo tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave Muffo a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Desert Ridge got a massive performance out of Halle Davis, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Parks, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
West Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Desert Ridge, they have already played their next contest, a 6-5 loss against Shadow Ridge on the 30th.
