Unioto piles up the points against Huntington

The Unioto Shermans can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Huntington 74-33 at home. Given Unioto's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Huntington is ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Unioto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mya Hamilton, who scored 19 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Hamilton hasn't dropped below two steals for 14 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaris Betts, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Unioto's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points per game. As for Huntington, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unioto will challenge Piketon at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Piketon is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Huntington, they will head out on the road to face off against Adena at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Adena is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
