Football Game Preview: Norwalk Bears vs. Westhill Vikings

After each having a week off, the Norwalk Bears and the Westhill Vikings will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Norwalk has given up an average of 28.8 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Norwalk fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Ludlowe two weeks ago but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 35-34 to the Falcons. The Bears have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Norwalk got top-tier performance from Easton Pace, who rushed for 178 yards and one score on only 14 carries, and also threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns. Pace really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Kevin Gordon was in the mix as well, providing Norwalk with three TDs.

Meanwhile, Westhill took a blow against McMahon two weeks ago, falling 34-7.

Norwalk now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Westhill, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Norwalk against Westhill in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, as the squad secured a 48-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
