Basketball Game Preview: Forest Lake Academy Panthers vs. Winter Springs Bears

The Forest Lake Academy Panthers will challenge the Winter Springs Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Last Thursday, Forest Lake Academy ended up a good deal behind Jones and lost 53-35. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brooke Maynard, who posted three points along with eight boards and five steals. Braelyn Isidro was another key player, putting up 12 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Winter Springs came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Sandcrabs by a score of 42-29. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Sandcrabs are ranked 541st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Winter Springs pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Forest Lake Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
