Abingdon has gone 9-0-1 against Gate City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Abingdon sitting on three straight wins and Gate City on five.

Abingdon is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Ridgeview get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Abingdon with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Gate City got the win against Union on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-0. It was an even better day for Isabella Hartsock as she scored three goals for her team.

Gate City's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those seven matches. As for Abingdon, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-3.

Abingdon was able to grind out a solid victory over Gate City when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
