The Triton Central Tigers will challenge the Knightstown Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Triton Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Knightstown will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Triton Central extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. Triton Central put the hurt on Lebanon with a sharp 10-2 win. Considering Triton Central has won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Triton Central let Jayda McKee and Olivia Schaadt run wild. McKee went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Schaadt went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Schaadt a new career-high. Ashlyn Hittle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Triton Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lebanon only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Knightstown challenged Franklin County on Friday. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 17th.
Mae Hersberger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dylan Fausnaugh, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Paysen Hauk, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Triton Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Knightstown, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Triton Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Knightstown struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Triton Central beat Knightstown 5-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
