Soccer Game Preview: St. Edward's vs. Port St. Lucie Jaguars

The St. Edward's Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Port St. Lucie Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Edward's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

St. Edward's lost 6-1 to Pine on Tuesday. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Jack Curley, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Port St. Lucie kept a clean sheet against Westwood on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Panthers out 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

St. Edward's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Port St. Lucie, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-11.

St. Edward's came out on top in a nail-biter against Port St. Lucie in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Does St. Edward's have another victory up their sleeve, or will Port St. Lucie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
