Baseball Recap: Branham Beats Christopher for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Branham took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Christopher, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bruins had just enough and edged out the Cougars 3-1. That's two games straight that the Bruins have won by exactly two runs.

Jack Lewis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Branham saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Migues, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Migues a new career-high.

The win (which was Branham's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.75 runs across that stretch. As for Christopher, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Branham beat the Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Friday.
