The Lansingburgh Knights will take on the Voorheesville Blackbirds at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lansingburgh is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Lansingburgh will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Wednesday, then bounced right back against La Salle Institute on Thursday. The Knights blew past the Cadets 17-8. Considering the Knights have won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Guiliana Patregnani made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits. She also put up six walks, which were her first of the season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Anna Patregnani was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taylor Moran, who scored three runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
Lansingburgh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Voorheesville fell victim to Albany Academy for Girls and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blackbirds have suffered since April 29, 2024.
Abby Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, Voorheesville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Sokolowski, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Lansingburgh's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Voorheesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
