Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Hauser's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Hauser won the last time they faced Morristown and things went their way on Monday too. The Jets put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Jets, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Haven Hartwell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Isabelle Brunner was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Lucie Asher was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Hauser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hauser is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Morristown, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Hauser will be playing in front of their home fans against Waldron at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jets are facing the Mohawks at the right time seeing as the Mohawks are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. Morristown will be paying especially close attention to Hauser's matchup: after Hauser faces off against Waldron, they'll take on Morristown again at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
