Baseball Recap: Buhach Colony Comes Up Short

Buhach Colony scored first but ultimately less than Golden Valley in their contest on Wednesday. They fell 4-1 to the Golden Valley Cougars. The Thunder have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Wesson Espinoza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Buhach Colony saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gatlyn Leard, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Anthony Trefault also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Buhach Colony's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-1. As for Golden Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
