Baseball Recap: Elkins Comes Up Short

Elkins had taken Lincoln down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Tigers fell 7-2 to the Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-9 last Tuesday.

Braden Cooper made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brayden Biller, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Elkins' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Lincoln, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coincidentally, Elkins and Lincoln will both be playing Robert C. Byrd the next time they take the field. The Cougars will host the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Tigers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
