Soccer Recap: Franklin Academy Beats Rocky Mount for Their Third Straight Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin Academy). They blew past the Rocky Mount Gryphons 9-1 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-0.

Franklin Academy's offense was hitting Rocky Mount from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Nolan Fotheringham led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

The victory (which was Franklin Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Rocky Mount, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Franklin Academy wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 9-0 victory against Roxboro Community on the 25th. As for Rocky Mount, they have also already played their next game, an 8-0 loss against John Paul II Catholic on the 23rd.
