Football Game Preview: Enid Plainsmen vs. Bixby Spartans + Official Tickets

Enid hasn't had much luck against Bixby recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Plainsmen will face off against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Enid has given up an average of 60.5 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Enid is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were dealt a 56-14 defeat at the hands of Norman on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Plainsmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Tigers are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, Bixby strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They claimed a resounding 64-7 victory over Edmond North. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 57-7.

Bixby's win came from a few key players Enid will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carson Kirby, who threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also punched in one TD on the ground. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Jayson Moll was another key player, gaining 143 total yards and three touchdowns.

Bixby was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Bixby's record now sits at 6-0. As for Enid, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Enid was taken down by Bixby 56-14 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Plainsmen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
