Baseball Recap: Bristol-Plymouth RVT Beats Whittier RVT for Their Fifth Straight Win

Bristol-Plymouth RVT waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Whittier RVT Wildcats 11-1. That's two games straight that the Craftsmen have won by exactly ten runs.

Kyle Weldon made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Cameron Wilbur and Nick Pemberton did most of the damage at the plate: Wilbur got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Pemberton went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Pemberton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Robertson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bristol-Plymouth RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bristol-Plymouth RVT's record now sits at 13-4. As for Whittier RVT, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

As of now, neither Bristol-Plymouth RVT nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
