Mortimer Jordan's game  last Saturday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Tuesday. They blew past the Arab Knights 16-9. That looming  16-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Blue Devils yet this  season.
 Alyssa Hays A. was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up  seven earned  (and two unearned) runs off   11  hits. Hays A. was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Tatum Hays T., who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.  Harper Pridmore was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.
 Mortimer Jordan  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arab struck out nine times.
The  win  got Mortimer Jordan back to even at 4-4. As for Arab, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
 Coming up, Mortimer Jordan will head out on the road to  challenge  Corner  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The last three games Corner has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Arab, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Boaz  at 4:30  p.m. Arab will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  matchup than the last.
