Preview: Coral Gables Cavaliers vs. South Dade Buccaneers
The Coral Gables Cavaliers''s homestand continues as they prepare to take on the South Dade Buccaneers at 3:30 p.m. on October 27th. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Coral Gables fell victim to Northwestern's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 42-0 loss at the hands of the Bulls. While losing is never fun, Coral Gables can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Northwestern is ranked 77th).
Meanwhile, South Dade ended up a good deal behind Booker T. Washington on Thursday and lost 24-7. South Dade has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jean Calixte, who threw for 186 yards and a touchdown on only 17 passes.
The losses dropped Coral Gables to 4-4 and South Dade to 5-3.
Coral Gables was taken down by South Dade 41-13 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Coral Gables have more luck at home instead of on the road?
