Lawrence Free State waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Shawnee Mission South Raiders. That's more bragging rights for the Firebirds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Lawrence Free State won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 26-24.

Anniston Clark paced Lawrence Free State's offense, picking up 17 kills. Clark got some help from Tesssa Nover-Estes and her 33 assists. Nover-Estes and Clark didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Lawrence Free State's win bumped their record up to 17-12. As for Shawnee Mission South, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-16.
