Baseball Recap: Canterbury Finds Home Field Redemption Against IMG Academy Royal

There's no place like home for Canterbury, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past the IMG Academy Royal Ascenders 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since April 30, 2024.

Anthony Meady made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Torres, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Ashby Piatt was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Canterbury is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
