Basketball Game Preview: Gadsden County Jaguars vs. Madison County Cowboys

Gadsden County hasn't had much luck against Madison County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Gadsden County Jaguars will welcome the Madison County Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Tuesday, Gadsden County was able to grind out a solid victory over North Florida Christian, taking the game 56-45.

Meanwhile, Madison County earned a 48-40 win over Godby on Tuesday.

Madison County's win came from a few key players Gadsden County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jahlaya Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. Wilson is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ralsharee Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Madison County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Madison County pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Gadsden County, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Gadsden County took a serious blow against Madison County in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 64-26. Thankfully for Gadsden County, Janiyah Mcknight (who went 12 of 21 on her way to 30 points and seven steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
