Basketball Recap: Washington-Marion Takes a Loss

Washington-Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Iowa Yellowjackets and fell 79-51. While losing is never fun, the Charging Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 30th).

Washington-Marion's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Iowa, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Coming up, Washington-Marion will head out on the road to face off against LaGrange at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iowa, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Leesville at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Leesville sitting on six straight wins and Iowa on four.
