Softball Recap: Troy's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

Greenville hit Troy with a five-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans fell 7-2 to the Green Wave. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Julia Rose was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Amayah Kennedy was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Troy's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for Greenville, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1.

While Troy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
