Volleyball Recap: Chugiak Falls Short Against Ranked Dimond + How To Watch

Chugiak faced Dimond in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Lynx. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lynx earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Audrey Parks paced Chugiak's offense, picking up 14 kills. Parks got some help from Avery Wilson and her 25 assists. Parks also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Avery Warren, each putting up two.

Among those leading the charge was Elena Snow, who had 12 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Chugiak and nudges their season record down to 31-15-1. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 39-3-1 South Anchorage (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 82.3% over those games). As for Dimond, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 33-12-1.

Coincidentally, Chugiak and Dimond will both be playing South Anchorage the next time they take the court. The Lynx will head out to face the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday.
