Football Game Preview: Brookhaven Panthers vs. South Jones Braves + Official Tickets

Brookhaven is 9-1 against South Jones since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Braves at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Brookhaven 11.1, South Jones 14.1) so any points scored will be well earned.

It was a proper cat-fight when Brookhaven took on Sumrall on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 21-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Jaden Allen produced another solid performance rushing for 78 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, while also throwing for 126 yards and one touchdown. Brookhaven also got a significant boost from Caiden Quarles, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.

Brookhaven didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off nine passes before the game was over. Tanner Hardy led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11. Another thorn in Sumrall's side was Durrell Washington, who picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles.

Meanwhile, South Jones lost to North Pike on the road by a 21-5 margin on Friday. The contest marked the Braves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Jones fell to 7-1. As for Brookhaven, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Brookhaven strolled past South Jones in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-10. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
