Baseball Recap: West Boca Raton Beats Dr. Joaquin Garcia for Their Third Straight Win

West Boca Raton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs.

Corey Jordan tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Casey Turner, who scored a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Max McDougall, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

West Boca Raton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

West Boca Raton's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-11.

Looking ahead, West Boca Raton will host NSU University at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, they will challenge Jensen Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
